People are not used to hearing the words “sustainable agriculture” and “pesticides” in the same sentence, but they go together in ways you may not expect.

Pesticides are integral to a more productive and resource-efficient agriculture that can help meet global challenges like producing more raw materials to satisfy the increasing and diversifying demands of a growing world population, while at the same time protecting health and the environment. In the coming decades we will need to have more of everything – more food, more feed, more non-food crops, more biodiversity and natural habitats – while at the same time reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Crop protection solutions will be essential.

ECPA’s 2014 “Hungry for Change” event will address two major elements of importance to our industry and to the whole European agricultural sector: the work we are doing to help ensure the safe and sustainable use of our products, and our vision for overcoming regulatory challenges to innovation.
