FEFAC Publishes Annual Report 2016-2017

FEFAC, representing the EU compound feed and premix industry, has published its Annual Report 2016-2017. The 2016-2017 period marks the last year of the presidency of Ruud Tijssens, who in the foreword describes his term as the point where the European feed industry manifested itself as part of the solution to tackle societal challenges with the publication of the 2030 Feed Industry Vision. In a second foreword, newly elected FEFAC President Nick Major places a focus on ensuring viable farm incomes through the Common Agricultural Policy as a precondition to deliver on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. LEAF and FACE Merger Confirmed

The merger between two of the UK’s leading farming and food educational charities, LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) and FACE (Farming and Countryside Education), has been confirmed.

LEAF is now looking to build on its position as a leader in public engagement in food, farming and the environment and maximising FACE’s expertise in the education sector. The newly expanded organisation will offer stakeholders and partners, improved efficiencies, enhanced engagement and will create even more opportunities for educating and engaging the public with food and farming. LEAF Marque Delivering Added Value to Members

The results of independent research into the added value of LEAF Marque certification were released today. The study, commissioned by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) and carried out by CCRI (The Countryside and Community Research Institute), reveals that LEAF Marque certification can offer significant financial, environmental and social benefits for farm businesses both in the UK and overseas.
