Caroline Drummond MBE, Chief Executive of LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming) was among five new Honorary Fellows to be presented by the Society for the Environment (SocEnv), during a reception at the House of Lords held on Monday 23rd June. Caroline received her Fellowship in recognition of the contribution she has made, through her work with LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming), to encourage best practice environmental stewardship amongst farmers and deliver more sustainable food and farming.Read more…

Eden Foodservice joins LEAF and achieves Food for Life Silver

Eden Foodservice, which provides catering services for 400 schools in the UK, has joined sustainable food and farming organisation LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming). Sourcing LEAF Marque produce has helped it to become the first catering company to achieve the Silver Food for Life Catering Mark for its 353 primary schools from the Food for Life Partnership. According to estimates of the United Nations, more than nine billion people will live on this planet by 2050. Specialist farming business leads the way in sustainability
Barton Hill Farm, in Bedfordshire, UK has become the latest farming business to be recognised for its commitment to sustainable farming by LEAF (Linking Environment And Farming). The farm produces wheat and oilseed rape for its own artisan oil and flour brand which will both carry the LEAF Marque logo, under the Mrs Middleton’s brand.

European Award for ELO-run LIFE+ 3WATER project!
For the first time ever, the European Commission has handed out awards to nature projects that have achieved outstanding results in certain categories. The LIFE+ 3watEr project, coordinated by the European Landowners’ Organization (ELO) received the first prize in the category of ‘cooperation’. The project aims to strengthen the pond area of Midden-Limburg in Belgium through a combination of economy, ecology, and education. The success of this project is largely due to the good cooperation between private landowners, nature organisations and the administration. According to the Flemish Minister for Environment, Nature and Culture, this is again proof that cooperative efforts can achieve great results for the environment. Read more…
